Privacy Policy

Your run stays with you.

LockeBox is being built as a local-first emulator and tracker. The current app direction and alpha builds do not require accounts, do not serve ads, and do not send your run history to Heavy C servers.

This policy covers the LockeBox app, the LockeBox website pages under /lockebox/, and the current alpha distribution flow. Last updated: May 14, 2026.

Short Version

LockeBox is designed to avoid collecting your personal run data.

If you use the app without emailing us or using a third-party distribution service, your emulator data, save-aware tracker data, and imported files stay on your device.

Local-first app data

Party data, box data, encounter logs, death history, notes, settings, and other run information are intended to be stored locally on your device.

No required account

LockeBox does not currently require account creation, cloud login, or a hosted profile to use the app.

No in-app ads or telemetry

The current app direction does not include ad networks, behavioral tracking, or analytics SDKs that report your gameplay back to us.

What LockeBox Handles

Files you provide are used to run and track your game locally.

Run and emulator data

  • Game settings, save states, and app preferences.
  • Run details such as team, box, routes, deaths, badges, and level caps.
  • Imported saves and related metadata needed to keep the tracker in sync with your run.

User-supplied game files

  • ROMs, BIOS files, and save files are supplied by you.
  • LockeBox does not distribute those files.
  • Those files are used locally by the app and are not uploaded to Heavy C servers by default.

What We Do Not Collect

The app is not built around user profiling.

Not part of the current app

  • No required sign-in or account registration.
  • No in-app advertising identifiers.
  • No sale of personal data.
  • No gameplay analytics dashboards tied to your identity.

Website and download context

The LockeBox app itself is separate from the services used to host pages and distribute builds. If you visit the website, download a build from GitHub Releases, or join TestFlight, those providers may process standard request, device, or account information under their own policies.

Contact and Support

Email is optional and only used when you choose to contact us.

If you email us

If you contact Heavy C Development Studio at [email protected], we receive your email address and any information you include in your message or attachments. We use that information to respond to you, review bug reports, and support the project.

Please avoid sending sensitive files

Do not send ROMs, BIOS files, or other copyrighted game files. If you report a bug, send only the minimum information needed to explain the issue.

LockeBox is still in active development. If a future build introduces cloud sync, accounts, or new data flows, this page will be updated before or when those features ship.
