Frequently Asked Questions

General
Is Forge.OS free?

Forge.OS has a free tier that includes core workout logging. Forge Pro unlocks advanced features: AI-powered smart progression, detailed analytics, mesocycle planning, custom split builder, and more. Forge Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No. Forge.OS is offline-first. All your data is stored on your device. You don't need an internet connection to log workouts, view history, or use any feature. An internet connection is only needed when purchasing or restoring a subscription.

Is there a web version or desktop version?

Forge.OS is currently a mobile app only (iOS and Android). There is no web or desktop version at this time.

How do I transfer my data to a new phone?

Use the Export feature in Settings to generate a .Forge backup file or QR code, then import it on your new device. Your new device's App Store account must have Forge Pro active (or you can restore your purchase) to access Pro features after transfer.

Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?

All your workout data, personal records, exercise library, templates, nutrition logs, and settings are stored locally on your device in an encrypted on-device database. We don't have servers and your data never leaves your device.

Does the app send any of my data anywhere?

No workout data, no personal records, no nutrition logs — none of your training content is ever sent anywhere. The only data that goes off your device is anonymous subscription/purchase data processed by RevenueCat (e.g., whether your subscription is active). See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What happens if I delete the app?

All your data is permanently deleted from your device. Since we don't store anything on our end, there is nothing to retrieve after deletion. Export your data first if you might want it in the future.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete all data by uninstalling the App or using the "Wipe All Data" option in Settings. See our Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.

Subscriptions
How do I cancel my Forge Pro subscription?

iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Forge.OS → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Forge.OS → Cancel.

You'll retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Open the App and navigate to Settings → Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same App Store / Google Play account you used when you originally subscribed.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google directly — we don't process payments ourselves. On iOS, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, visit the Google Play Help Center. If you have trouble, email us and we'll do our best to assist.

Workouts & Tracking
What is Smart Progression?

Smart Progression is a Forge Pro feature that analyzes your performance history to automatically suggest optimal weight and rep targets for your next session. It applies progressive overload when you're advancing and recommends deload strategies when it detects stagnation. Suggestions are based on your actual logged history — not generic formulas.

How does the PR (Personal Record) system work?

Forge.OS automatically detects new personal records while you're logging a workout. A PR is detected any time you exceed your previous best for a given exercise (by weight, reps, or estimated 1RM). You'll see an in-app celebration and have the option to share a PR card.

What is a mesocycle?

A mesocycle is a structured training block, typically 4–8 weeks, with a defined progression scheme and planned deload. Forge Pro's mesocycle planner lets you create periodized training blocks that automatically adjust volume and intensity over the cycle.

Can I create custom exercises?

Yes. You can add custom exercises from the Exercise Library screen. Custom exercises support all the same tracking options as the built-in library (sets, reps, weight, RPE, notes).

Nutrition
How does the nutrition label scanner work?

Point your camera at a nutrition facts label and the App uses on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit) to parse the macros. All processing happens locally — no images are sent to any server. You can review and edit the parsed values before saving.
